Skin cancer is directly related to exposure to the sun. Therefore to increase your chances in protection against skin cancer just follow the simple rules. It starts from the phrase" Slip, Slap, Slop and Wrap.


1\ Slip on a shirt

      Wear long sleeved shirts, long pants and long skirts to cover most of the skin. Dark color clothes are better than light colour. tightly woven fabrics protect more than lightly woven fabric. .


2\ Slop on sunscreen

        These are lotions or creams that we apply on the skin to protect against the effect of Ultraviolet light. Apply to the skin half an hour before exposure to the sun and reapply every 2-3 hours.


3\Slap on a hat

       Wear a hat with 7 cm brim and dark underside.


4\Wrap on sunglasses

        These help to protect the eyes and the skin around the eyes.


5\Seek the shade

        Avoid being outdoors between 10 am and 4 pm. Even if you donot feel burned, your skin may still get some damage. .


6\Check Your Skin for Cancer

       Self skin examination should be done once a months.
