A New study releaesed two days ago revealed the discovery of the gene responsible for body fat distributions. According to the study pblished in the Journal Proceedings fo fthe National Academy of Science, researchers from Duke University discovered that the gene Plexin D1 is associated with distribution of fat.

The study showed that zebrafishs with the gene have apple shaped body
People lacking the Plexin D1 gene are less likely to develop diabetes
According to the researchers, people who lack the gene are less likely to develop insulin resistance and thus are less prone to diabetes.
