The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics published the following guidelines to avoid Diabetes:
1\ Take the Risk Test
This is a test developed by the American diabetes associatin. It contains the risk factors of diabetes that include age, gender, diabetes during pregnancy, family history of diabetes, being physically inacitve and the weight.
2\ Decrease Your Weight
Being overwieght increases your risk of developing diabetes.
3\Eat High Fiber Diet
A high fiber diet help reduce the weight and reduce the risk of diabetes.
4\Take whole grains
One half of your grain intake should be whole grain.
5\Vegetable Based Proteins
Increase your protein intake from vegetables.
6\Type of fat
Increase your intake from unsaturated fats as opposed to saturated fats.
Avoid sugar consumption.
8\Increase Physical Activity
Increase your physical activity to at lease 180 minutes of vigorous activity weekly
9/increase fruit and vegetable
Increase your fruit and vegetable consumption.
